The Singer
A few weeks ago I received a note from my cabaret fan and friend, Dr., painter and film-maker Steven Swancoat. He’d seen me on the stage on multiple occasions and had me in mind for the trumpet player in his new film, “The Singer.” I asked if I could think about it…and in about the time it took for you to read this I said, “Where and when!” Turned out that he’d lined up the Red Room in the funky, East Village bar KGB, where I have been known by a precious few, to seek libation. We all arrived around 6:30PM for the typically interminable process of shooting a sequence of scenes that took until the wee hours to complete. Fully spent we stumbled henceforth into the night, regretting not a moment!
With actress Taylor Hamilton in the East Village, on the film set of “The Singer,” written and directed by Steven Swancoat. Scheduled for release by mid-2018. It was a blast!
