Guys like Christian Griffith and Joe Torre

What started 20 years ago as Hedge Funds Care and now is branded Help For Children/Hedge Funds Care, www.HFC.org, has had a terrific last ten days. They start with the March 15th, 20th Anniversary Gala, in “The Whale Room” at the Museum of Natural History; then to the 5:30PM, 3/19 Run2Heal kick-off, 5K fun-run in Riverside Park at 104th Street, to start extreme athlete extraordinaire, Christian Griffith on his historic, 3,000 mile run across the U.S. to raise awareness of the issue of child abuse, and encourage all victims to seek treatment. It is the lesson of Christian’s life! He was a child victim of sexual abuse and finally sought treatment himself after 30 years of unhappiness and broken relationships. He now devotes a significant part of his life to helping others shake off the feeling of shame and find professional counselling, and HFC is proud to partner with him in his quest!

Follow Christian at https://Run2Heal.hfc.org to support his monumental, and heart-felt effort.

It has been a reminder of when another great athlete, and beloved N.Y. baseball icon, the only person to achieve more than 2,000 hits as a player, and over 2,000 wins as a major league manager was part of an important HFC gala celebration. I speak of course, of Hall of Fame great, Joe Torre, who also experienced abuse as a child, and has given back through his Safe at Home Foundation. This is one of my favorite photos from that evening.
